English for Germans
Teacher from United States. Speaks Spanish, Turkish, Korean.Verbringen Sie zu viel zeit auf dem Couch? Möchten Sie mit diesem Zeit etwas nützliches tun? Ich habe mehrere Sprache gelernt (wie Deutsch! ...obwohl es gar nicht perfekt ist), und unterrichte seit 10 Jahren English. Kinder, Jugendliche, Erwachsene... Sprachen, Hören, Schreiben. Was Sie wollen!
Would you like to do something useful with all of your couch-time? Learn with someone who has learned languages. I've learned several (like German! Though I still have a long way to go) and have been teaching English for nearly 10 years. All ages, all skills listening? writing? speaking? Yes!
Having learned several languages, I understand the struggle. Although I am a native speaker (we often get a reputation for not understanding grammar), I understand much more because of my experiences with other languages. As a speaker of German, I can more easily find the root of various grammar problems (usually they are linked to the mother tongue) that German speakers have more easily.

Due to the large number of Turkish people in Berlin, I believe it is important to offer a specialised course for Turks, by a native English speaker who also understands the specific challenges that Turkish Speakers face when learning English. Having lived three years in Istanbul, I can explain both cultural and linguistic comparisons that can be of specific assistance to Turks learning English.

Leeann classes are fun and engaging. She carefully balances the course content according to the needs of the student. Why learn English? Just after Mandarin and Spanish, English is the third most common native language in the world and it is definitely the most learned second language. English is today's world's lingua franca. Many occupations and professions require at least working knowledge of the language, as it has become the most widely used language in international publications, international trade, telecommunications, entertainment and diplomacy.
How hard is it to learn English compared to other languages? It depends, of course, on the languages you speak already. The most difficult aspects of learning English are the vast vocabulary, the differences between spelling and pronunciation, the subtleties of grammar and the different ways it is used around the world.
