What do you like the most about teaching Greek?
A:

Teaching my mother tongue and exposing the learners to Greek culture gives me lots of energy and motivation. Also, it is very encouraging to know that my students can already speak in Greek in their everyday interactions.

When did you start teaching Greek?
A:

In July 2023 we teaching-Greek journey started.

In your experience, what are the most common reasons for wanting to learn Greek?
A:

Getting to know the Greek culture, bonding with Greece due to family bonds, obtaining the Cyprus passport.


 
Q:
How difficult is it to learn Greek, compared to other languages?
A:

Grammar and pronunciation is the hardest part. But since many English and Russian words are borrowed from Ancient Greek, the vocabulary is not so hard to learn. And of course, the more languages we speak, the easier to learn new ones!

What aspects of Greek culture are your students usually interested in?
A:

Songs and philosophy.

What's the hardest part of being a Greek teacher?
A:

The hard part is not to be too strict. Native speakers teachers, tend to be more intolerant towards learners' errors.

What makes a good Greek student?
A:

Punctuality and being open to all the sources and materials that are offered to the teacher.

What is your advice for students who are struggling?
A:

Listen to Greek songs.They really are motivating!

How long does it take to become fluent in Greek?
A:

Up to 3 years if living in a Greek speaking country. (Greece or Cyprus)


 
Q:
Do you prefer teaching in person or online? Why?
A:

Both. Online gives learners and the teacher lots of flexibility. In person, there is a wide range of classroom activities at the teacher's disposal.
