What do you like the most about teaching Spanish?
A:

I like to share my language with people who are curious to learn something new and expand their horizons. Languages are the tool to open doors.

When did you start teaching Spanish?
A:

I started teaching Spanish 3 years ago after I completed my teaching certificate.

In your experience, what are the most common reasons for wanting to learn Spanish?
A:

1. To travel.

2. To communicate with friends or romantic partners/prospects.

3. To learn about arts, literature, and ways of living in another society.

How difficult is it to learn Spanish, compared to other languages?
A:

It is not difficult if you take the time and dedication to do so. All languages are a challenge, although, it depends on us to achieve the learning goal.

How is Mexican Spanish different from that of other countries?
A:

The Spanish language is the same if we talk about grammar and structures. It varies from country to country, and it has an array of different slang and idiomatic phrases depending on where you learn it.

What aspects of Mexican culture are your students usually interested in?
A:

Food, arts, celebrations.

What's the hardest part of teaching Spanish?
A:

What makes a good Spanish student?
A:

Not just a Spanish student, but any student. Dedicate time to practice, be patient with yourself, and have fun while you learn.

What is your advice for students who are struggling?
A:

Poco a poco. Take your time, and enjoy the process. Read in Spanish, visit websites in Spanish, listen to music in Spanish, and trust your teacher. We know you can do it and we are here to help you.

In your opinion, what makes some students progress faster than others?
A:

The time you dedicate to practice is what makes the difference.
