Courses and Teachers : French
Q:
What do you like about teaching French?
A:

I feel like French is a very difficult language to learn and I feel honored each time someone wants to learn my native language. I also think that, even though French is a very complex language with a lot of difficulties, it is for me a really beautiful language. That's why I want to teach it. I want to share this language with people all around the world.

Q:
When did you decide to become an French teacher?
A:

I decided to become a french teacher after the corona pandemic, I wanted to have a fresh start and change horizons. This is when I started my master degree to become a teacher.

Q:
In your experience, what are the most common reasons for wanting to learn French?
A:

It can be because you want to move out in a French speaking country, or simply going for a trip. People may also be intrested by the French culture and want to learn more about it.

Q:
How difficult is it to learn French, compared to other languages?
A:

It is really difficult. There is a lot of things to remember, it can become really overwhelming if you try to learn everything at once. But it is not impossible. I can say this with confidence because I saw a lot of my students getting better at it as the school year went on. It may be one of the most difficult language to learn but if you are motivated and passionate enough, I certainly sure that I will go well.

Q:
How is French in France different from that of other countries?
A:

There is some differences from other country, in the way of speaking. For instance, in Belgium, their way of counting numbers changes a little bit. In Québec, people don't use necessarly the same words as us. I think that those small changes makes the language even more interesting.

Q:
What aspects of French culture are your students usually interested in?
A:

Most of the students are really interested of the main known things about France (Paris, French cuisine...) but I think that there is a lot more to learn about our culture (Music, other beautiful parts of France...)

Q:
What's the hardest part of teaching French?
A:

The enormous amount of rules and exceptions in our language makes it really hard for us to explain to our students. Because you teach them a specific rule and a week after, you have to say that it does not apply every time. It can be really confusing for the students.

Q:
What makes a good French student?
A:

Someone who is really motivated and who will not back away facing the difficulites of the language.
