What do you like about teaching English?
A:

One thing I really enjoy about teaching English is seeing the progress my students make. It's an amazing feeling to witness their improvement over time, whether it's in their confidence, vocabulary, or fluency. Knowing that I play a part in their growth is truly rewarding.

When did you decide to become an English teacher?
A:

I decided to become an English teacher when I was a teacher assistant. During that time, I discovered a skill I didn’t know I had I realized I was good at teaching and truly enjoyed working with kids. Seeing their excitement and progress made me want to pursue teaching as a career.

In your experience, what are the most common reasons for wanting to learn English?
A:

In my experience, the most common reasons people want to learn English are to have more job opportunities and to travel. English is a global language that opens doors in many careers, and it also makes traveling easier by allowing people to communicate with others around the world.

How difficult is it to learn English, compared to other languages?
A:

For some, English can be challenging because of its irregular spelling, pronunciation, and large vocabulary. However, compared to other languages, English has a relatively simple grammar structure with no gendered nouns and straightforward verb conjugations. For example, some words are spelled differently, like 'color' in American English and 'colour' in British English. Pronunciation can also vary, and certain words have different names like 'eraser' in American English, which is called 'rubber' in British English, or 'truck' in American English, which is 'lorry' in British English.

My students are usually interested in various aspects of American culture, such as movies, music, and food. Many enjoy learning about Hollywood films, popular TV shows, and famous musicians. They are also curious about American holidays like Thanksgiving and Halloween, as well as everyday life, such as school systems and lifestyle differences.

What's the hardest part of teaching English?

The hardest part of teaching English is when I worry about a student who seems to be struggling or not making progress. It’s difficult to see them face challenges, and it makes me question if I’m doing things the right way or if there’s more I could do to help. I always want to make sure my students are learning and feeling confident in their progress.

A:

A good English student is someone who keeps practicing and doesn't give up, even when things get tough. It's about persistence and the willingness to keep trying until they get it right. Consistent effort, patience, and a positive attitude are key to making progress and becoming successful in learning English.
