Students who take Spanish classes may have different motivations for learning the language. We asked our Spanish teachers what kind of student profiles they encounter more often when they impart their courses.
Carlos Lenci : There are a variety of reasons. Travel to Latin America, business with Spanish-speaking countries, the desire to get to know the Spanish culture through the language. There are also people interested in maintaining contact via social networks with Spanish-speaking people.
Luis Estrada : People often come to Mexico for business, they spend at least 3 years because of their contracts, this creates the need to learn.
Diomedes De La Rosa : Among my students I have many people who want to learn Spanish because it opens new doors in terms of professional growth, but I also have students learning Spanish for other reasons like starting a relationship with a Spanish speaking person.

It is the official language in 21 countries: Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain and Equatorial Guinea. Spanish is spoken by more than 390 million native speakers. Learning Spanish can open up new opportunities for you as you can communicate when travelling to Latin America, Spain or Equatorial Guinea. Spanish can also help you if you want to establish new businesses in Spanish-speaking countries.
Manuel Rodríguez : Spanish is a language with 580 million speakers. It is a useful language to learn for business and for travel. In addition, Spanish culture is also very interesting: food, literature, festivals...
Jorge Sanchez : By number of native speakers, Spanish is the second biggest language in the world. It opens a whole new spectrum of possibilities for those who learn Spanish. Most of my students want to learn Spanish because they love hispanic cultures so they want to either live, study or work in Spanish speaking countries. Learning a second language is quite an enriching experience that expands your mind.
Alejandro Munoz : There are a thousand reasons to learn Spanish. One of the most common motivations is to communicate in Spanish. In the 33 countries where Spanish is the official language, people want to travel and communicate without problems. There are also many people who just think it's a beautiful language and want to watch movies and listen to music in the original language. Other people just want to pass an exam, and others do not know how they got to Spanish classes, but they fall in love with this learning.
