About the teacher

Hi there! My name is Filipe. I am a guitarist from Portugal, but have lived in New York for the past 4 years, while studying music. Right now I moved to Berlin and I'm really excited to get to know the music scene here.

What I love about teaching is the challenge of teaching in itself. Every time it's a different experience. I look at it like an experimentation lab, where everything I say has an impact on the student's way of getting things. Honestly, the more I do it the more I'm fascinated by it.

Qualifications

Bachelor in Jazz Performance (BFA) - The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music (NYC, USA), 2015.

Jazz Diploma - JB Jazz - Lisbon, Portugal, 2011.

Several workshops and masterclasses throughout these years.

Experience

In Lisbon I taught Guitar to people of all ages and levels, for 3 years, in 3 different schools at the same time.

In NY I taught a lot of different subjects: Guitar, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Rhythmic Analysis, Arranging, Counter-Point, Composition, etc. for 4 years, in schools and privately.
