Hello, Everyone! My name is Eftychia (or Effie), which means “Happiness” in Greek and I offer happiness to the people who would love to learn Greek. My goal is to keep the Greek language alive and thriving for another five-thousand of years!

Qualifications

I am a professional teacher in Greece with a Masters Degree in Education. I have lived in New York but am currently on a Greek island. In New York, I worked in Greek-bilingual schools while studying at Hunter College (CUNY). I used to work in the public school system in Greece but now I have the pleasure of being the Head of Studies at the Greek-American Non Profit Organization that promotes Greek culture and education. I am also currently working on my PhD in Digital Media and Communication at the Ionian University of Greece. Most of my students are Greek-American and bilingual. I love influencing my students to learn Greek not by heart, but from the heart! Are you ready for a great journey into the depths of the Greek language and culture?

Experience

I have 13 years of teaching experience in New York and in Greece, teaching Greek as a first and as a second language. I can teach Greek (A1-C2 level) depending on my students needs. I can direct you on A2 and B1 language requirement for the permanent residency/naturalisation in Greece. I am highly experienced in preparing individuals for the GCSE, ellinomatheia and regents (certificates of proficiency in Greek language). Of course every student is different so I make sure to provide a customized program for everyone wanting to learn greek, specified to your needs, while moving at your pace.
