Course description:

Preparare gli studenti a prendere la SAT e/o TOEFL esame in preparazione per l'ingresso all'università.

Prepare students to take the SAT and/or TOEFL exam in preparation for entrance to university.

Teaching approach:

This course is taught by a native English speaker who is certified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL). In addition, I have taken the SAT multiple times, and am familiar with the new changes. I can teach strategies for taking the test, as well as tutoring the actual subject matter (reading, writing, math, and the optional essay). I am also very familiar with teaching the TOEFL exam and have been certified to do so. I can teach strategy for taking the exam and help with the material.

About the teacher

Hello! My name is Tori and I am an English teacher from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I am currently located in Florence, Italy and I love it here! I love teaching English because it allows me to encourage students to improve their language skills - English is very difficult, after all. I enjoy teaching students of all levels and ages, and I believe that any student can succeed with the right attitude and teacher. In terms of my interests, I love traveling, cooking and baking, hiking, and dancing!

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science - Public Health. Simmons College, Boston Massachusetts, USA - 2015.

Certificate of Proficiency in Teaching English as a Foreign Language - Via Lingua Florence, 2015.

Experience

I have taught English to students of varied ages and cultural backgrounds in a classroom setting in Florence, Italy. I have also taught reading and grammar lessons to Italian students in Florence.

I have also tutored an adult ESL student for a few months in the United States.

I tutored statistics for four semesters in college in the United States and had approximately 5 students per semester.

I also have taught dance to students aged 5 - 22 for approximately 8 years in the United States in the styles of jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet, and contemporary/lyrical.
