I believe everyone can play guitar, regardless of talent. What I can offer is a flexible teaching plan that works for each student, and I ask for their participation so that I am not in charge of the project, but we are. For beginners and intermediate players, they need different materials and informations depending on the style they want, but the fundamental learning behind it is the same. How I incorporate theory, technique and expression into a dish is to develop a ready-to-play musician.
From Child Adaptive Approach to Advanced Improviser Level
For beginner:
Stage 1 - Live Guitar Experience
1. The simplest open chord and C major scale playing mode
2. Use a capo to play a simple melody or song in the key of C major
3.Rhythm and chord playing
4. The melody or part of the song requested by the students
Stage 2 - Extended knowledge compatible with Stage 1
1. Common open position chords
2. Complete 2-octave C major scale and songs
3. How to transpose a guitar in single mode
4. Play 8th notes and 16th notes
Stage 3 - Application
1. Songs that meet the Garde 0 - 2 Trinity Rock and Pop Rock School exam standards
2. How to construct a simple guitar solo
3. Intervals - Major 2 versus Minor 2, Major 3 versus I 3, Perfect 4, 5
4. In sync with the beat.
After stages one through three, day-to-day practice is essential. During these stages, my students learn how patterns reflect music theory, rhythms contribute to specific moods, and how scales aid composition.
